Glendalough - The Glen of
the Two Lakes - is a valley
famous for its beauty and its
historical and archaeological
interest. The valley is home to
one of Ireland's most
atmospheric monastic sites,
established by St. Kevin in the
6th century. The area also
provides excellent rock-
climbing, rough scrambling and
ordinary hill walking.

The Round Tower in
Glendalough, probably the
most famous of all the
landmarks in County Wicklow,
was built almost 1,000 years
ago by the monks of St. Kevin’s

How to find us
You can find us south of Dublin, close to the village of Laragh. The maps below are not to scale.

Walking Instructions
These are the directions from Glendalough to Riversdale House
B&B if you are walking:
•
Turn left out of the Visitors Centre, passing Glendalough Hotel
•
Go over the bridge and follow the road for approximately 300
yards
•
Take the first RIGHT into a small lane, if you reach the Youth
Hostel, you have gone too far!
•
In the lane, pass a house called "The Cottage" and
continue for about 10 minutes with the river on your right
•
There are several sets of stepping stones, continue until
you see our sign for Riversdale House B&B and then
cross the river into our grounds.
Please Note: After heavy rain the stepping stones are under water, and
impassable. Please telephone for advice.
Total length of walk - 15 mins.
